Enjoy breakfast at hotel. Proceed (on own) or by using free tram rides (within the city centre) to melbourne cricket ground for a guided tour. Experience an unforgettable mcg tour with access all areas including player change rooms, the ron casey media centre, member only areas of the melbourne cricket club such as the long room and a walk on the hallowed arena. Walk in the steps of great sporting legends. Following your mcg tour, visit the australian sports museum. The australian sports museum isn’t your typical museum. It’s an exciting, interactive and ever-changing experience where the latest technology has been used to create immersive exhibits and galleries; including cricket, australian football, the olympics, sport australia hall of fame, victorian racing gallery and the reimagined game on! Interactive space. Collect your wristband and interact with the exhibits as you learn about australian culture through sport. Later in the afternoon we proceed to philip island. The tour starts with a drive south-east from melbourne to reach moonlit sanctuary wildlife conservation park where you will meet endangered species, kangaroos, wallabies and koalas plus an array of colourful birds and reptiles. Your journey then leads onto phillip island, the home of the australian motorcycle grand prix and the famous little penguins. Upon arrival on the island, depending on the time of year and your interests, you will visit woolamai beach to see surfers riding the waves. During the daylight savings months, you will travel to the town of cowes where you will have free time for dinner. In the winter months you can have something to eat at the penguin parade visitor centre. Finally, a trip to phillip island is not complete without its black-tie gala event: the penguin parade. Head to the visitor centre to shop, have a coffee and meander along the boardwalk to the viewing platform where you will see the little penguins come ashore, decked out in their tuxedos as they hurry off to find their burrows.
